With our production sites located in the heart of Normandy and Picardy, we are committed to bringing life to our regions, transforming them while preserving them. We are committed to participating in their socio-economic development, working hand in hand with local stakeholders. It is our responsibility to prevent and improve the impact of our activities on the areas in which we produce, work and live.

Preventing and improving the impact of our activities on the areas in which we operate

Objectives:
> Reduce our abstraction of borehole water by 50% between 2022 (average for 2018/2022) and 2027.
> Certify our industrial sites ISO 14001 by 2028 thanks to our environmental management system.
> Take into account and respond to 100% of requests from local residents and communities during the campaign.
700,000 m3 of water are not withdrawn from the natural environment each year
Nothing goes to waste in sugar beet!
We reuse, recycle or recover 100% of the constituents of sugar beet.


Listening to local residents
We prepare each campaign in conjunction with the 600 town councils and town halls in the municipalities crossed by the beet shipments, and implement preventive measures such as road sweeping during the campaign and road safety training for drivers.

ISSUE NO. 4
Working with local players to strengthen the socio-economic development of our host regions

By supporting local economic development, creating jobs and fostering partnerships with local players, we are making a collective and committed contribution to local life.
For every Saint Louis Sucre employee, 10 direct and indirect jobs are created in Picardy and Normandy.

Plants open on their territory
Every year, we invite our partner temporary employment agencies to visit our sites. We are also offering local young people, employees and their families the chance to go behind the scenes of sugar production.
